03-10 - Toby Mac - Retreat - Easter Eggs

posted Mar 10, 2015, 7:09 AM by Matthew Baum
Good Morning,

Thanks to everyone who got their forms into me.  It's a very busy lent this year.  I want to give you an update on some of the stuff going on.  I know I'm looking forward to it, but I'll also be happy when we can return to a more regular schedule.

Toby Mac - As of right now, I have 2 families who have signed up to go.  I will order the tickets first thing tomorrow morning, so if you have not yet turned a form in, you need to email me immediately.

Retreat - As of right now, I have 8 Students signed up for the retreat from us.  Fr. Mike says he has about 15 from up there.  Together it should make for a nice crew for a retreat.  I spoke to Fr. Mike last night and the plans are starting to come together.

Stations - A reminder that even though we've already taken care of parts.  We can always use help with stations.  Feel free to stop by at any of the practices. Everything is posted at http://jpii.stbenedictchurch.org/events/living-stations

Easter Egg Hunt - Rick Ingavo has agreed to take charge of the easter egg hunt, but still needs quite a bit of help.  We'll need around 8-10 kids to help, plus someone to agree to be the easter bunny and the bunny's helper.  We'll also need a service day to stuff candy in eggs.  If you're interested, just let me know.  We'll have more info and dates coming.  We will also stuff eggs during stations practice.

Rwanda speaker - If any of you are interested, Immaculee IIibagiza will be speaking at St. Francis on Thursday March 19th at 7pm.  Cost is $5 for students, but you need to make reservations.  She came to OLV a year or two ago and has an amazing story of faith.  It's worth your time.  More info at https://www.francis.edu/immaculee-ilibagiza/

Parent Event Meeting- We spoke about having a meeting with parents and adults on procedures for planning and running an event.  I haven't forgotten, but I'm not sure if we'll manage it in lent.  I'm going to look at schedules and see what we can do.

Summer Retreat - I also spoke to Fr. Richard Tomkowski about potentially having a summer retreat down at New Baltimore.  He was very excited about the idea, so we'll see where it goes.

As always - if you have another idea, and you'd like to take charge, let me know and we'll support you to make it happen.

God Bless Everyone,
-Fr. Matt
