This Week 09-17 - Real Friends

posted Sep 16, 2014, 8:32 AM by Matthew Baum
Good Morning Everyone!

Sorry to get this message out so late, it's been a very busy week here at St. Benedict's!  I'm very excited to see a few new people last week, welcome to all!  As a reminder, JPII Youth Group is open to all high school students, regardless of parish, so please bring friends!

Speaking of friends, that's this week's topic.  Real Friends!  This week we'll talk about some of the different friendships we have with others.  Not all friendships are the same, and we connect to different people in different ways, and that's a good thing.  Yet, when we recognize how those relationships are different, we can come to a better understanding of those around us, and more be the person Christ calls us to be.  Hope to see you this Wed, 7pm-9pm!

A couple of other updates

Location - A couple of people have come looking for youth group at the Church music room.  I will post a sign on both the church music room door and the school music room door to direct people for the next few weeks.

P&W - We'll be moving the P&W Adoration time to a Sunday evening, the next date is still TBD.

Halloween - After speaking to the officers, we will not be doing the haunted house for the school this year, but it would be nice to come up with a different Halloween event for us.  I'm open to ideas!  Some have suggested we go as a group to Loretto to make the Saints tour.  Other ideas are welcome!  Please speak to me or one of the group officers about any ideas!

Clean up Day - As many of you know, our storage areas are pretty full, and not exactly neatly packed.  As of now, our plan for next week, (9/24) is to meet at the regular time, but to take that time to go through and clean out our storage areas, find out what we really have, and try to make some sense of it.  With that in mind, I wanted to give everyone a heads up.  9/24 probably wouldn't be a good week to bring a friend for the first time.  (although they are welcome to help, but let them know ahead of time what they're in for!)

See you Wednesday!
